| Robert Karlsson | A bit thin, tendrils of white smoke. A bit bland maltiness thrown in. Quite coastal, and fresh. Hints of seaweed. Nice nose. Very oily mouthfeel, and drinkable. Thin smokiness, coastal style. Invigorating despite its oiliness. Not bad. |
| Craig Daniels | Nose; seaweed and bacon, very sweet malt, some aspartame and a farmyard leatheriness.
Palate; smoky, leathery and very saccharine sweet.
There's a disconnect between the Talisker leatheriness and an almost Speyside sweetness; almost like it was 50/50 Benromach 6 Peat Smoke and Talisker 10. The younger material is almost certainly from bourbon wood and more heavily peated than the usual Talisker. |
| Krishna Nukala | Peat and smoke. Some chalk and earth like. With few drops of water we get some digestive buscuits which are very malty and give wholesome feeling. Say vanilla? On palate it is sweet and syrupy. Nice full bodied. Nice and easy to drink and finishes strongly with peat and smoke. ( Blind tasting notes of MMA 2013) |
